In 1969 Gerald I. Lawhorn pursued a career in retail gasoline marketing. He started an independent distributing company that he named OK Oil, Inc. with only four locations. After 32 years leading the company Gerald was ready for retirement and on his birthday, May 22, 2001, he sold the controlling interest in the company to T. Mark Moore.
In 2006 Gerald was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. On October 8, 2008 Gerald passed away.
On January 1st, 2024, PetroSouth Energy was created to consolidate the operating contracts of Petroleum Purchasing and PetroSouth.
Mark and his team of experienced professionals have worked diligently to improve processes and increase efficiency to make PetroSouth Energy a well-respected fuel distributor around the Southeast. PetroSouth Energy continues to operate as a family-owned business while developing the next generation of leaders.
PetroSouth Energy conducts business with convenience store operators in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. PetroSouth Energy’s corporate office is located in Griffin, Ga.
