About Us

In 1969 Gerald I. Lawhorn pursued a career in retail gasoline marketing. He started an independent distributing company that he named OK Oil, Inc. with only four locations. The Company grew to over 300 locations selling retail motor fuel in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. After 32 years leading the company Gerald was ready for retirement and on his birthday, May 22, 2001, he sold the controlling interest in the company to T. Mark Moore.

Currently Mark Moore, Gerald’s daughter Leslie Lawhorn Neely and his brother Jeff Lawhorn are stockholders of the company. In 2006 Gerald was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. On October 8, 2008 Gerald passed away.

Mark Moore and his team of professionals have diligently worked to make PetroSouth the company it is today. The business Gerald started as a small hometown business has grown into a successful full service petroleum business.

PetroSouth, Inc. has self-service tie-ins with convenience food store operators in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee. PetroSouth’s corporate office is located in Griffin, GA and also has a satellite office in Leesburg, GA, and Auburn, AL.
